These cases usually happen when you have to do some corrections on your thesis, especially in the figures numbering. You must to add, remove or re-organize the figures numbers in your thesis. If you do not use automatic captions provided by MS Word, I suggest you to get some PANADOLs before you start editing your thesis :-).
