Make your thesis style using STYLES


Styles in MS Word are shortcuts of a set of formatting instructions. After you set the styles up with a specific format (ex: font, color, size etc), you can apply the formats to a text by simply clicking the shortcut. In addition to saving a lot of time, a style ensures the format consistency in a document.

How to get started with styles?
Using MS Word 2010, styles can be used easily. In the Home menu, Styles group, select a style thumbnail to apply that style to a text. Click an arrow icon on the lower right corner to open the Styles window.


How to know that a style was applied on a text?
See on the list of styles. MS word will highlight a style applied.

How to modify a style?
Right click on the highlighted, select Modify. Details modification can be performed by clicking Format button (lower left corner) and select the item.


Or, there is another way to modify a style.
1. Modify the format of your text
2. Right click on the text, select Styles, click on Update (Style name) to Match Selection.



How to create a new style?
1. Create a text and format it as your need.
2. Right click on the text, select Styles and click on Save Selection as New Quick Style. Save as your own name.

It is easy, isn't it? Don't waste your time in manually formatting each part of a document. Save your time and make a consistent format using Styles.
